Malta Immigration Programmes
Malta’s immigration programmes were introduced to attract foreign talent and investment to Malta:
- Malta Residence & Visa Programme (MRVP)
- Malta Individual Investor Programme (MIIP)
Malta Residence and Visa Programme
MRVP requirements:
- Non-Maltese, EEA or Swiss national who is over 18 years of age
- Invest in qualifying property for 5 years from issuing of certificate (annual rental investment of minimum of €10,000 or purchase of a minimum value of €270,000)
- Qualifying investment for 5 years from issuing of certificate (€250,000 in Malta Government Stock)
- Non-refundable contribution of €30,000 (and €5,000 for parents-in-law and grandparents)
- Receipt of stable and regular resources sufficient to maintain applicant and dependants (evidence of annual income arising outside of Malta of €100,000 or capital of €500,000)
- Possession of a valid travel document and sickness insurance coverage in respect of all risks across the EU
- Indefinite right to reside, settle or stay in Malta without the need of obtaining an entry visa

Malta Individual Investor Programme – Citizenship
Malta’s IIP requirements:
- Contribution of €650,000 for main applicant (additional €25,000 for minor children and spouse and an additional €50,000 for dependants over 18)
- Qualifying property for 5 years (annual rental investment of minimum of €16,000 or purchase of a minimum value of €350,000)
- Qualifying investment for 5 years (€150,000 in Malta Government Stock)
- Certificate from a reputable health system that main applicant and dependants are not suffering from any contagious disease and that they are in good health
- Police conduct certificates
